BORDERWISE · INDEPENDENT RENTAL RESEARCH

Travel research without the guesswork.

Independent, source-linked information for one deceptively complicated question: can this rental car cross that border?

Our purpose

Borderwise helps travelers compare the published cross-border policies of rental-car providers by pickup country, intended destinations, vehicle type and rental duration. It focuses on a detail that generalized travel websites often gloss over: the exact rental operator and originating rental country usually determine the contractual rules.

Why every result links to official terms

A universal yes/no answer would be misleading. Policies may require prior authorization, apply different fees per country, exclude certain vehicle codes, or restrict the availability of insurance overseas. Borderwise uses primary rental-company sources and distinguishes explicit prohibition from an unknown answer. The published official policy is linked beside the comparison result so readers can confirm before paying.

What you can do

What Borderwise cannot do

It cannot book a car, issue permission, check the current availability of a vehicle, confirm a particular insurance policy, calculate border-tax obligations, give immigration advice, guarantee the freshness of third-party terms or make a binding legal determination. The signed agreement and written approval from the actual rental operator control. If the source is incomplete, the checker deliberately returns “Not confirmed”.

Commercial independence

Borderwise is not a rental-car provider and has no implied commercial relationship with the rental brands named. At the time of this release, the site does not contain paid placement, affiliate tracking URLs or sponsored results. If monetization is added later, it should be clearly disclosed and must not change policy decisions.
