Last updated: 2026-10-30. Borderwise is a static website. The checker performs comparisons locally in your browser. It has no account system, external analytics SDK, advertising pixels, mailing list or checkout. It does not send your chosen itinerary or checklist to a Borderwise application server.
Local browser storage
Choosing “Save trip” stores the selected pickup country, destinations, vehicle class, rental days and save date in your browser’s localStorage under bw-trips-v1. Checklist completion is stored locally under keys prefixed bw-checklist-v2:. The browser controls this data; it does not sync across devices. Clear the website’s local storage in browser site settings to delete it, or delete individual saved trips through the Saved Trips dialog. Browsers that disable local storage may prevent these features.
Locally generated email requests and share images
The written-authorization email is composed within your browser and is not sent to Borderwise. Optional pickup branch text is held in the page only; it is not stored with saved trips or included in share links. Choosing “Copy” puts the draft on your clipboard; choosing “Open email app” passes it to your device’s email handler. The optional route-image feature draws a PNG entirely in your browser. If you choose to share it, your chosen app may process the image and message under its own terms.
Shared URLs
The “Copy link” feature encodes pickup country, destinations, rental days and class in the website URL. Anyone you give that URL to can see those itinerary choices. Do not include personal or confidential information in shared links. No passenger name, booking reference or payment data is collected by the tool.
Hosting and external links
Cloudflare Pages hosts the site's static assets. As an infrastructure provider, Cloudflare may process normal access information such as IP address and request metadata under its own policies. If you open an official rental-provider link, that third-party website may collect and process data under its own privacy policy. Borderwise does not control those third parties.
Terms of use and travel disclaimer
The information is provided for travel planning and general information, not legal, insurance or immigration advice. The policy registry was initially checked on 2026-10-30; sources, prices, availability, contract language, and border requirements can change without notice. Some linked terms are location-specific and may not apply to other branches of the same brand.
Do not enter another country in a rental vehicle unless the operating rental company has explicitly approved your exact trip and vehicle under the rental agreement, and you have met all legal entry and insurance requirements. Borderwise does not issue permissions, arrange coverage, make reservations, or guarantee any quoted charge.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the publisher does not guarantee completeness, accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular use, or uninterrupted access. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.
Questions and corrections
If a published primary source is superseded or conflicts with the checker, rely on the current provider contract. The source registry is provided for independent verification; correction submissions are not handled through this static version of the site.
